Tom is an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC) Los Angeles-based Executive and Leadership Development coach. While not his exclusive domain, his primary focus is on helping mid-career professionals advance to the C-Suite.
Tom’s day job is the Director of Executive MBA Career and Leadership Development at UCLA Anderson School of Management. There he leads the Leadership Foundations program, an integral part of the Executive MBA program focused on improving leadership skills based on introducing the concepts of emotional intelligence, team dynamics, behavioral change, dealing with uncertainty, executive presence and leading in diverse environments.
As a coach, Tom helps his clients advance their careers within their existing organization or, by switching companies or industries. He works with clients who hold executive positions in Fortune 500 companies throughout the U.S. His clients are at McKinsey & Company, The Wonderful Company, Disney, and the Miami Dolphins, to name a few.
Tom guides his clients to build self-awareness and lasting behavioral change that improves both individual and team performance through use of a variety of assessments. As an ex-management consultant, he focuses on how behavioral change can affect the organization’s bottom line. Tom believes that behavioral change can lead to more personal happiness, but when combined with improved organizational performance and colleague motivation, the change can be transformative for all involved.
Prior to his role at UCLA, Tom led Human Capital in the Americas for Oliver Wyman, a management consulting company. He also spent 10 years at McKinsey and Company as both a consultant and professional development manager in London and New York. Tom began his career as an architect, working in New York, Chicago, London, and Edinburgh.
Tom received his Master of Management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management, his coaching certificate from the Hudson Institute of Coaching. He also holds a Bachelor’s of Architecture Degree from the University of Cincinnati.
